This is a Dandelion Flower top (so it is Fragile-be very careful when opening) that is surrounded by preserved flowers, moss and a Honey bee, a ladybug and snail! Delicate and elegant, sure to bring a smile. This display is approx. 4 1/2 x 2 1/2" with a glass top and cork bottom.

*Please note: A few of the Dandelion seeds can break off the main piece in shipping. This is natural and will not hurt the display at all. They stay contained in the dome and actually add a bit more beauty to the piece.

Dandelion facts:
Dandelion is a short-lived perennial that will grow just about anywhere, regardless of soil conditions, but rich soil will improve its growth. They withstand frost and freezes and tolerate crowding. Heat and insufficient moisture will cause the leaves to get bitter, but it won't kill the plant.
The flower heads mature into spherical seed heads sometimes called blowballs or clocks (in both British and American English) containing many single-seeded fruits called achenes. Each achene is attached to a pappus of fine hair-like material which enables wind-aided dispersal over long distances.

Species and fun facts: Apis Mellifera

A honey bee (or honeybee) is any member of the genus Apis, primarily distinguished by the production and storage of honey and the construction of perennial, colonial nests from wax. In the early 21st century, only seven species of honey bee are recognized, with a total of 44 subspecies, though historically seven to eleven species are recognized. The best known honey bee is the Western honey bee which has been domesticated for honey production and crop pollination. Honey bees represent only a small fraction of the roughly 20,000 known species of bees.[ Some other types of related bees produce and store honey and have been kept by humans for that purpose, including the stingless honey bees, but only members of the genus Apis are true honey bees. The study of bees, which includes the study of honey bees, is known as melittology.

NOTE: If your item is in a glass dome please be aware that the domes are NOT permanently connected to the base. Care has to be taken when opening or removing the dome so not to damage the display or specimen.

All displays will be carefully packed to the best of our ability to insure a safe and damage free arrival. With Ground Advantage and Priority mail you will be covered by $100 worth of insurance. If damage occurs in shipping and your item was shipped with Ground Advantage or Priority mail, the post office now requires you to bring the package in to a postal center/office for inspection before any insurance payments will be approved and the item has to be in the original shipping box with all packing as you received still in box. Your refund will be processed once the package has been inspected and the receipt from the post office acknowledging the inspection is forwarded to us. This is an ordeal that no one wants to go through, including us, so we do our best to make sure no one has too!
